The problem statement which the ELRN project is based upon is the following: the problem of necessity of continuously improving one\'s knowledge affects all individuals that wish to learn and/or develop their present abilities but the impact of which is due to everyday activities they are unable to attend classic forms of learning, a successful solution would be an alternative form of teaching/learning that is able both to provide all the necessary information and to fit into each attendee's schedule
The ELRN project was conceived as an alternative to the existing E-Learning platforms, which mostly concentrate on the design of the course and then on the facilities the user can have. This project is founded on a basis that emphasize the idea of offering in a structured frame the possibility to take part to the Learn-Lecture system and also diverse possibilities and options that can be used by users. The users are not constrained to be synchronized one with each other while accessing the services of the application nor the students to be co-present with the professors while taking tests or registering to courses.
Another strong point in the ELRN project comparing to the common ones stands in the way tests are build. Along the grid tests there are introduced here the interactive tests which add a more difficult line to the process of graduating a course, all this sustaining the idea that a good E-learning platform should not only stress on designing the material of the course and the way of delivering it but also on the logic of information. And the reflection of a user logical and clear knowledge enhancement can be percept in interactive tests that involves rational thinking against pure reproduction.
