OLAP services and tools are usually used to convert the enterprise raw data stored in the data warehouse into information and knowledge within the OLAP service. The data warehouse is the storage area that OLAP may tap into to do its analyses.
The data warehouse holds raw data. OLAP systems aggregate and summarize such data making good use of it, by organizing it in OLAP cubes or other forms of special storage that allow for fast retrieval of the \"information\" expected from a query or report.
